Roto 8 completed Phase 2 of the Camp Aftermath one-year mental health program at Ciel-et-Bois in Cantley, Quebec. Over five days, seven women, veterans and first responders came together to focus on healing, connection, and rewriting their personal narratives.

The theme of this rotation, “My Story, My Strength,” guided participants to retell their experiences not as trauma stories, but as origin stories rooted in resilience and identity. Through high-impact workshops, grounding practices, and guided reflection, participants explored how their past shapes—not limits—them.

Therapeutic Support & Trauma-Informed Care

Roto 8 was supported by a dedicated team of professionals offering:

  • Mental health guidance and clinical oversight
  • Reiki and hypnotherapy
  • Chiropractic treatment
  • Yoga, meditation, and breathwork
  • Wellness coaching

This integrated approach reflects Camp Aftermath’s commitment to evidence-based, trauma-informed care for veterans and first responders living with operational stress injuries.

Volunteerism: Purpose in Action

Volunteerism is the foundation of the Camp Aftermath model. During Phase 2, Roto 8 volunteered at the Ottawa Humane Society, contributing what amounted to a full week of staff support while also donating over $1,500 to directly assist their mission. Service continues to be one of the most powerful tools for restoring purpose and connection.

Gratitude to Our Supporters

This rotation was made possible thanks to:

Veterans Affairs Canada – Commemorative Partnership Program

  • IGM Wealth Management, for sponsoring Roto 8 and providing books and care packages
  • Camp Aftermath’s staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors
  • Ciel-et-Bois for hosting with exceptional care and hospitality

Phase 3: The Journey Continues

As participants move into Phase 3 of our one-year program: weekly VTCs, 1:1 coaching, and ongoing community support, the real work continues. This phase turns awareness into action and builds sustainable progress in mental health, emotional wellness, and personal growth.

Honoured to Walk This Path Together

As CEO and as a veteran, I am grateful for the trust Roto 8 placed in this process. Their courage, honesty, and willingness to grow embody the mission of Camp Aftermath:
to support veterans and first responders transform their stories into strength and reconnect with purpose.

Roto 8, thank you for your commitment. The journey continues.
