Apply for Camp Aftermath

Camp Aftermath is a structured, year-long program designed to help Veterans, serving military members, first responders and frontline professionals strengthen connection, purpose, belonging and momentum in life after service.

Participants begin meeting virtually before coming together for an intensive residential phase, followed by structured connection and accountability throughout the months that follow.

Participation is provided at no cost to accepted participants.

Camp Aftermath covers the core costs of the program, including accommodation, meals and programming, with eligible travel support arranged as part of participant planning.

A Program That Continues Beyond the Retreat

Camp Aftermath is not designed as a one-time getaway. The program is built around connection before the residential experience, meaningful time together in person, and structured follow-up afterward. Mental health professionals provide oversight throughout the program, helping ensure that the experience remains safe, thoughtful and responsive to the needs of participants.

PHASE 1

Screening & Suitability

Screening and suitability come first. Applying does not guarantee a place in the program. Camp Aftermath uses this process to help determine whether the program appears to be a good fit and whether the timing is right for you.

For those moving forward, preparation and connection begin next. Approximately four weeks before the residential phase, participants begin meeting virtually once a week to get to know one another, ask questions, understand expectations and begin building trust before meeting in person.

PHASE 2

Residential Experience & Volunteerism

Participants come together for a four- to five-day residential retreat, depending on the cohort, that combines professionally guided conversations, peer connection, shared meals, wellness activities, team-building, reflection, ordinary time together and meaningful volunteer service.

Volunteering alongside one another gives participants a chance to contribute, work as a team and reconnect with a sense of purpose, teamwork and community.

PHASE 3

Continuity & Accountability

The program continues after the residential phase.

Participants remain connected through structured follow-up, peer support and accountability designed to help maintain the relationships, routines and momentum built during the program.

What Happens After You Apply

The process is designed to be clear, personal and respectful.

  1. Tell Us You’re Interested

Complete a short application so our team can contact you.

  2. Have a Conversation With Us

A member of the Camp Aftermath team will speak with you about what you are looking for, answer questions and help determine whether the program may be a good fit.

  3. Participant Suitability Review

Each application is reviewed carefully. Camp Aftermath is a small-group program, and submitting an application does not guarantee a place in the cohort.

  4. Official Invitation

Accepted participants receive a formal invitation from Camp Aftermath and information about what happens next.

  5. Begin Phase 1

Approximately four weeks before the residential phase, the group begins meeting virtually once a week.

  6. Attend the Residential Phase

The cohort comes together in person for the residential portion of the program.

  7. Continue Through Phase 3

Participants remain connected through structured follow-up and accountability after returning home.

What We Ask From You

Camp Aftermath works best when participants are willing to show up, take part and stay connected.

Commitment

Be prepared to participate in the virtual meetings, residential phase and ongoing follow-up.

Openness

You do not need to have everything figured out. We simply ask that you come willing to engage honestly with the process and the group.

Respect

Participants share space, conversations and experiences with others. Respect for one another and the group is essential.

Accountability

Life happens. The program is designed around staying connected and continuing to show up rather than disappearing when things become difficult.

Start Your Application

The first step is simply to tell us a little about yourself and how we can reach you.

We will only ask for information that is necessary for the application process. More sensitive information, where required, will be collected later in the intake process with appropriate explanation and consent.

Privacy note: Please do not include detailed medical information, trauma history or other highly sensitive personal information in an initial enquiry.

After You Apply

Our team reviews each application personally. If Camp Aftermath may be a good fit, someone from Camp Aftermath will contact you to arrange the next conversation.

Because our cohorts are intentionally small, not every applicant can be offered a place in every rotation. When that happens, we will communicate clearly and respectfully about next steps.
