Every Veteran has more than one story.

There is the story before service. The story during service. The story after service. And the story that is still being written.

Roto 8: My Story, My Strength created space for Veterans to reflect on identity, transition, connection, purpose, and the strength they continue to build after the uniform.

This project was made possible with funding support from Veterans Affairs Canada through the Commemorative Partnership Program. We are grateful for that support and for the opportunity to help preserve and share Veteran stories with dignity, consent, and care.

Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing short reflections from Roto 8 participants as part of this story series. You can follow us on our social media platforms to watch the series.

These reflections are individual experiences. They are not clinical claims. They are shared with consent and with respect for each Veteran’s choice in how their story is told.

Camp Aftermath is Veteran-led, peer-supported, clinically guided, and complementary to clinical care. The program is free of charge, no diagnosis is required, and the work continues beyond the retreat through follow-up and accountability.

The retreat opens the door. The follow-up carries it home.
