Less than a year ago, I gathered the courage to share with friends and family an idea I had to help military veterans and first-responders suffering from PTSD by creating a way for them to practice self-healing by giving to others. Since then, the Aftermath Association has grown into something beyond my wildest dreams.
And it’s not just my dream anymore….
The volunteers have transformed my hope of building Camp Aftermath into positive social change with their passion, varied backgrounds, and expertise. My idea is now much more complex and beautiful than I could have ever imagined. The Aftermath Association is driven by the ideas of so many great people; an engaged Board of Directors and Executive Committee, countless supportive professionals in the mental health realm, and our like-minded sister charities in Costa Rica. Now I’m thrilled to share that all that we have been working towards is coming together into something BIG.
Stay tuned as the Aftermath Association – a band of brothers and sisters like no other – take the next leap in making Camp Aftermath a reality!
